Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused from repetitive hand motions from activities such as typing, computer work – or just living with a set of hands! Physical therapy, medication and splinting are all just bandaids to solve this common problem. Years ago I did surgery to release the pressure on the nerve to the hand by using an incision in the palm. This changed in 2002, by doing this release of the nerve with an endoscope, through a small incision in the wrist and what an improvement in the results!
I have performed hundreds of these over the years, with minimal recurrence, and great outcomes. The recovery is about 2 weeks quicker than the procedures with the incision placed in the palm! The week afterward you can on type on a computer and do light activities. Heavy activities such as lifting and gardening can be done in 3 to 4 weeks. If you find yourself or a loved one struggling with numbness of the hands, come meet us and let us help you. Your hands will let YOU sleep instead of them!
